Hello everyone (^ ^) ♪ It is Osaki of shirokane ceramic art school.Today, when I was walking down the road from Hiroo station to the classroom, I found “spring” ♪

I have had ceramics for over a year for the first time.

I think that I want to go back to beginner and practice the comprehension this time.

It is not possible to draw a still well potter’s wheel, it has struggled every time.

So, we have to be asked to teach the basics of the potter’s wheel once again to the teacher.

Cut it in half to check thickness and uniformity!

I checked the cross section.

I got an OK from my teacher for this bowl (^ ^) /You can see your bad habits by looking at the cross section.

I am aware that clay tends to remain in the rising part from the bottomI understand.

Things that you do not notice when you are creating a work, by looking at the cross sectionI found out.

We will continue to practice not only works but also regularlyI feel that it is important.

Pottery trial class in Tokyo! SCAS

I hope everybody is enjoying winter in Tokyo!

Today I want to talk about our pottery/ceramics trial class here in Shirogane Ceramics Art School.

At our studio, anybody is welcome to join our trial class. Trial classes are perfect for those of you who are in Japan for a short period of time or for those of you with no prior experience in ceramics.

You can choose from wheel throwing trial or handbuilding trial depending on what you would like to make.

Wheel throwing takes a little practice but in our trial class, instructors will help you through each step so you do not need to worry!

Let’s take a look at some of our sample works of wheelthrowing and handbuilding.

Ceramics Introduction of Yukiko Osaki ~ ㉗ wood-fired kiln string making ~

Hello everyone. It is Osaki in platinum pottery class (^ ^)

The city is full of Christmas illumination,

How is everyone going?

This time it looks like I made a dish made of cord burned with wood kiln.

“I want to make a dish dish!”

I told my teacher a vague image of myself,

“It’s okay to make it by making strings!”

I got the advice from the teacher and is the first challenge to make strings (^ ^) /

First we will make the bottom part.

I cut the shape with my favorite size & shape.

Next, I will make a string, but this is quite difficult … (^ ^;)

It does not stretch to the same thickness · It becomes flat like a sinister · It puts out too much and it cuts · · ·

Why is the teacher making it very easy? Is it? Is it? It is a feeling.

But … … I managed to learn how to do it somehow while making as many books ♪

People are creatures that can be learned and learned no matter how many people ~ (^ ^)

Finished in j works of my favorite I am satisfied!

The kiln placement of the firewood kiln at Mashiko was a very valuable experience.

The feeling of excitement and excitement when the work comes out of the kiln! It is!

Hello, I am Mina from Shirogane Ceramics Art School in Tokyo. Today, I would like to give you a little introduction to our studio.

At our studio, we offer flexible ceramics classes to anybody who is interested in ceramics.

You can choose from hand building trial or wheel throwing trial.

Beginners are welcome for both of our trial classes.

We have students from all over the world with all kinds of backgrounds.

大崎由紀子の陶芸入門~㉖薪窯㏌益子 窯出し体験~

皆さま こんにちは(^^)白金陶芸教室の大崎です。

今回は、益子にて薪窯の窯出しの様子をお伝えしたいと思います。

 

人生初の薪窯・窯出し体験!(^^)♪ワクワクで出発です!

東京から車で約2時間半。お天気にも恵まれ紅葉も綺麗でした。

穴窯とはどんなものかすらわからない私としては

全てが新鮮な体験です!

先ずは穴窯を開けるところから・・・

角谷先生とサブーリ先生が工具を使ってレンガをはずしています。

あの大きな壺は白金陶芸教室の会員さんの作品!!

 

何とも言えない素敵な色合いです♪

続々と作品が窯出しされて行きます。

 

同じ釜の中から取り出されているのに、場所や火の回り方によって

様々な色合いに・・・。

残念なことに上の作品&お隣さんの作品と仲良くくっついてしまいました。

何とか外れないかと先生が思案して下さいましたがダメでした・・・。

 

これもまた勉強!薪窯の難しさを実感です。

 

でも、実はもう一つ作品を入れていたんです!

紐作りで作ったお皿。こちらは良い色に焼きあがっていました(^^)/♪

嬉しい~~~~~~♪♪♪

 

この作品は、作成した時は何だかピンとこずイマイチ・・・なんて

思っていたのですが、思ったよりも縮んだことでカタチも

いい感じになり焼き上がりを見て大満足!!
